A 747 Bottoms for The Space Shuttle Columbia

March 24, 1979 – The Space Shuttle Columbia rides piggyback on a 747 as it touches down at Cape Canaveral, concluding a 2,400-mile ferry flight from California. The legendary Deke Slayton pilots the T-38 chase plane at left.
