LGBT Activist Donna Red Wing Dies at 67

“Donna was a force to be reckoned with and will be greatly missed by individuals across the country,” said Daniel Hoffman-Zinnel, executive director of LGBT group One Iowa in a press release. “Donna inspired so many, including myself.”

Red Wing died Monday at her home in Des Moines as reported by The Des Moines Register. She was a long-time activist who was named by The Advocate as Woman of the Year in their December 1992 issue.
