Who was Trump’s last highest-ranking gay official, IDK? But, The U.S. Senate confirmed Richard Grenell, President Donald Trump’s nominee to be ambassador to Germany, on Thursday. Chancellor Angela Merkel was due in Washington for talks hoping Trump preserves Iran’s nuclear agreement.
The Senate voted 56-42 to confirm Richard Grenell. The vote was mostly along party lines. This position has been empty since January 2017. Grenell’s nomination had been pending since last September.
